Dear Fellow Youth,
Today, as I sit down to write this letter, my heart swells with pride and joy. There's something about celebrating the vitality and spirit of youth that fills me with hope and excitement. So, let me speak plainly and from the heart.
I believe in the power of youth. I believe in our ability to create change, to shake things up, and to make a real difference in the world. That's why I want to take a moment to celebrate us—the young people who are working tirelessly to transform our communities and our world.
Just a few days ago, I had the privilege of attending a session on unconscious bias led by Dr. Diana Opollo. It got me thinking about how we can all do better at treating each other with kindness and respect. And you know what? Celebrating each other costs nothing. So, here's to all the incredible young people out there who are making a difference in their own unique ways.
As we gear up to celebrate International Youth Day on August 12th, I can't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. This day is a reminder of the incredible potential that young people possess. It's a chance for us to come together and celebrate our achievements, big and small.
But let's not stop there. Let's use this day as an opportunity to rally together and make our voices heard. Whether we're tackling climate change, fighting for social justice, or revolutionizing agriculture, we have the power to shape the world we want to live in.
Speaking of agriculture, let's take a moment to celebrate the young farmers who are leading the way in innovation and sustainability. From leveraging technology to revolutionize farming practices to finding creative solutions to food security challenges, these young minds are proving that age is just a number when it comes to making a difference.
So, how can you get involved? Start small, dream big. Embark on local initiatives, embrace agriculture, raise your voice, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and engage with policy. Together, we can create a brighter, more equitable future for all.
As we celebrate International Youth Day, let's remember that change starts with us. Let's stand united, cheering each other on as we work to build a better world. Happy International Youth Day—a day to inspire, celebrate, and empower.
With hope and solidarity, Tibenkana Denis, CEO Bandera Farmers Network International.
